U.S. citizens may visit Hong Kong for up to 90 days without a visa, but a visa is required for those to work, study, establish or join in any business or to take up residence.

How to apply

You must come to the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction where you reside to submit the application, or you may send someone else or a travel/visa agent to come to the visa office of the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction where you reside for application process.

Mail applications are not acceptable and will be refused. No appointment is required. You may also send your applications to Hong Kong Immigration Department(Please visithttp://www.immd.gov.hkfor requirements).

Please visit the Hong Kong Immigration Department web site: http: // www. immd. gov. hk for details. Processing time is not fixed. The Embassy or Consulate – Generals shall issue visas according to the response from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.

Fees

Visa fee $30, payable by money order or cash only.

Please make the money order payable to Chinese Consulate in Houston.
