Fire put out, Consulate will open as normal

    In the afternoon of August 6,  an accidental fire was caught in the office building of Chinese Consulate General in Houston. The Consulate initiated the Emergency Response Mechanism, coordinated with the Fire Department of Houston to put out the fire quickly. No people were hurt, no serious property damage was caused. According to primary investigation, the fire was an accident.

    The Consulate would like to thank the Fire Department of Houston, as well as the Houston Office of the Diplomatic Security Bureau of U.S. State Department for their quick and professional service. We also want to thank friends from all walks of life in Houston and beyond for their attention and care.

    All departments of the Consulate will be open as normal next week.
