On May 7, 2012, Chinese Consul General Xu Erwen met with former U.S. Secretary of State Mr. James Baker and his wife Mrs. Susan Baker. Ambassador Edward Djereijian, founding director of the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy and his wife Mrs. Francoise Djereijian, Consul Zhou Yujiang and Consul Yang Jing were present.

Consul General Xu expressed appreciation to Secretary Baker for his positive contribution to China-U.S. relations and commended Baker Institute for its efforts to promote mutual understanding between China and U.S. Consul General Xu briefed the guests on the latest development of China-U.S. relationship. They also exchanged views on topics of mutual interest.
