Consul General Gao Yanping and President of Texas A&M University Co-host a Show Celebrating China-U.S. Friendship

On January 14, Consul General Gao Yanping and Texas A&M University President Bowen Loftin co-hosted a show Celebrating China-U.S. Friendship at College Station, Texas. Counselor Yan Guohua,Cai Lian and Yao Weike of Chinese Consulate General, faculty and students of Texas A&M University and other 2300 people from all walks of life were present.

 

Consul General Gao delievered a speech at the pre-show reception. Consul General Gao appreciated President H.W. Bush and Texas A&M University for their support of China-U.S. relations. Gao said, as the biggest developing country and the biggest developed country, China and the U.S. share common interests, face the same challenges and responsibilities. At the invitation of the U.S. President Barack Obama, Chinese President Hu Jintao will pay a state visit to the United States. This significant visit will advance our joint efforts for building a positive, cooperative and comprehensive relationship. Looking ahead, China and the U.S. have every reason to work together, to be partners, to be friends and to be successful.

   

President Loftin said, it is a great honor to co-host Celebrating China-U.S. Friendship performing show with Consul General Gao. The U.S. and China should learn from each other and work together on solutions to shared problems. Texas A&M University highly values its relationship with China and seeks to strengthen its educational, cultural and research partnerships with the Chinese side.

The show in Rudder Auditorium achieved a great success. The audience was amazed at Yunnan Performing Arts Group's folk song, dance, magic and acrobatic performance and gave long and warm applauses. Everyone was basked in the atmosphere of China-U.S. friendship.
