Consul General Gao Yanping Meets with Guests from Continental Airlines Inc.
2009/12/25

On December 21, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Kay Ikawa, Managing Director of Asia Pacific Sales of Continental Airlines Inc., and her colleague in the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston.

Consul General Gao stressed that sound development and broad prospects of China’s economy provide the world’s companies great business opportunities. It should be a good opportunity for Continental Airlines Inc., as the leading airline company operating Sino-U.S. flights, to develop its business and facilitate exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Madam Ikawa said that Continental Airlines Inc. has maintained good relations with China for years. Against the backdrop of the global economic downturn, Continental Airlines Inc. is one of the few companies managing to make profit from its operation of Sino-U.S. flights. The company is ready to fully support 2010 Shanghai World Expo by providing convenient services for the participants from the United States as well as from Latin America. Madam Ikawa also forwarded her sincere congratulation to the Chinese Consulate General in Houston for its successfully host of the variety show of Chinese performing arts with the city of Houston celebrating 2010 Shanghai World Expo and the New Year.
