On Nov. 18, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Border Members of American Jewish Committee(AJC), Mr. Allan Fleet, Ms. Dena Palermo and Director of Houston Office Mr. Randall Czarlinsky.
Mr. Fleet welcomed Gao to assume her office as Chinese Consul General in Houston. Fleet said Jewish people and Chinese people have enjoyed brotherhood with a long history. He deeply appreciated that many Chinese people had risked their own lives to save thousands of Jewish people from the Holocaust during the two World Wars.
Consul General Gao said that both China and the United States should join hands for safeguarding world peace and stability and prevent the tragedies like two World Wars from happening again. She wished that the relations between China and the United States would develop soundly and stably on the basis of President Obama’s successful visit to China. Gao sincerely hoped that AJC would continue to promote the positive and comprehensive cooperation between China and the United States in the future.
