Consul General Gao Yanping Discuss With Chinese Students and Scholars

On October 29, Gao Yanping, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Houston, held discussions with Chinese students and scholars in Atlanta. Those who attended the discussions are Chinese students and scholars from Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Georgia and Georgia State University. Dr. Yan Guohua, Consul and Director for education and education consul Wei Liqing attended the discussion.

Consul General Gao Yanping made a keynote speech on "Chinese economic development, past and future of China- U.S. diplomatic relations, and how to choose future" before the discussion. She encouraged all the Chinese students and scholars to make contribution to the development of China and China-U.S. relations. She emphasized that"Opportunity will always be given to those who have made preparations", and she wished all attendants to study hard, unite and respect each other, and provide service to the motherland.

All the Chinese students and scholars spoke enthusiastically and expressed their love and desire to serve the country. They also raised questions concerning employment, treatment and policies for returners from abroad. The discussion closed at a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
