Emergency Notice on Phone Fraud

The Consulate General has recently received calls to verify whether any staff members of the Consulate General called or texted them. It is understood that all of them had received a telephone call from a male or female suspect using technical means to revise callers’ phone numbers to consulate's telephone and posing as an employee of Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Houston.

Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Houston alerts the people in the United States again that everyone must be vigilant against phone fraud. Please protect your personal identity, home address, bank account, and any other personal information.

If you have been deceived unfortunately, please call 911 as soon as possible to report the case to the local police, and contact your bank to request immediate freeze for bank wire payment or bank account and any other possible measures from your bank.
