Consul General Li Qiangmin Briefing Southern U.S. about the China-U.S. Presidential Meeting and the outcomes of the Belt and Road Forum

On May 24, 2017, the Chinese Consulate General in Houston held a luncheon at Hotel Zaza, during which Consul General Li Qiangmin briefed the early harvest of the China-U.S. Presidential meeting and the outcomes of the Belt and Road Forum. Over three hundred people attended the luncheon, including representatives of Congressmen Al Green, Pete Olson and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Office of Foreign Missions Regional Director Nicholas Papp, Houston Vice Mayor Pro-tem Jerry Davis, Fort Bend County Judge Robert Hebert, Consul Generals of UK, Turkey, and Egypt in Houston, and other representatives from Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama.

Under the theme “New Opportunity for China-U.S. Cooperation”, Amb. Li Qiangmin introduced the outcomes of the presidential meeting at Mar-a-Lago between President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump and the outcomes of the Belt and Road Forum, and analyzed the potential cooperation opportunities between China and Southern U.S. from the perspectives of infrastructure, finance, energy, and agriculture.
