On Nov.10^th 2009, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Mrs. Amy Wong Mok, Douglas Dempster, dean of the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Kathleen Panoff, director and associate dean of The University of Texas at Austin Performing Arts Center, and several other friends from AACC. They had a friendly and constructive talk on cultural exchanges, visit of faculty and students of fine arts between the two countries, particularly on the participation by Austin artists in cultural events organized during World EXPO 2010 Shanghai.

Gao briefed them on the newest development of World EXPO Shanghai. She stressed that China is now developing sound and fast. It is sure that World EXPO Shanghai will provide opportunities for rich and diversified culture exchange. She proposed that people from Austin cultural institutions go to Shanghai and share the experience. This kind of exchange and visit will enhance further understanding and collaboration between the two peoples. She expressed her appreciation to the group for their enthusiasm and contribution to the cultural relations between China and US, and wishes to have more cooperation.
