On the evening of September 30, 2009, the Chinese Consulate General staff and their families got together with representatives of Houston Chinese community, overseas students and overseas companies to watch the live broadcast of the grand rally in central Beijing celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The dressed-up ballroom of the Consulate General was filled with festival atmosphere. Consul General Gao Yanping declared the starts of the party. Everyone was excited by the marvelous grand National Day rally. Before watching the live broadcast, the staff of the Consulate General and the guests performed various programs to celebrate the 60th birthday of the People's Republic of China and the upcoming Mid-Autumn festival.
