Consul General Gao Yanping meets with Lang Lang & Yao Ming

On April 14th, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Chinese pianist Lang Lang & basketball star Yao Ming, two out of the three global image Ambassadors for 2010 World Expo Shanghai at her residence in Houston, U.S.. Consul General Gao highly appreciated the success in their careers and the contributions they have made in promoting a better understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and United States. She shared with them her views on the impact of World Expo Shanghai on China-U.S. relations. 2010 World Expo Shanghai is another grand international event held in China after Beijing successfully presented Olympic Games in 2008. It is not only a summit of high-tech worldwide, but also a grand showcase of diversified cultures of the world. Several southern U.S. state and city governments will highlight their culture and achievements in the USA Pavilion in Expo Shanghai, such as the State of Texas. It is certain that 2010 Expo Shanghai will facilitate exchanges and cooperation between China and the U.S.. 
 

Both Lang Lang and Yao Ming felt excited to be recognized as the global image Ambassadors for the 2010 World Expo Shanghai, and so proud of their generation who are ambitious and confident of their commitments and ready to serve the people and the nation.
 
Consul General Gao also attended Lang Lang's concert at the Jones Hall for the Performing Arts in downtown Houston in the evening.
