内蒙古乌兰察布市印山村的农民张二旦在照看自家的羊群。他2001年领到了10只免费的小尾寒羊母畜，现在他家仅养羊一项收入每年达到1万多元。“穷人经济学”的伟大实践——“中国式扶贫”正加速世界减贫进程。

         Zhang Erdan, a farmer in Inshan Village, North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is looking after his sheep. In 2001, he got ten free sheep from the government. Now he can earn over 10,000 yuan a year by raising sheep. The help to the poor with Chinese characteristic, dubbed “the practice of the economics of the poor”, is accelerating the world’s pace to reduce poverty.

 

 

 

 

     贵州省大营乡五星村农民何之礼在给牲畜喂食。何之礼家获得贷款后，养了猪和牛，解决了温饱。日前，中国农业银行在贵州省紫云县1.1万户贫困农民中实施第一期1100万元小额信贷。

         He Zhili, a villager in Wuxing Village, Ziyun County, Southwest China’s Guizhou Province, is feeding cattle. He Zhili raises pigs and oxen with the low-interest loans from the government and is able to support his family now. The Agriculture Bank of China has recently granted small amount loans worth of 11 million yuan to 110,000 poor households in Ziyun County.

 

 

 

 

     2002年12月3日，一列从南宁开往昆明的列车停靠在贵州西南布依族苗族自治州的一个小站。建成于1997年底的南昆铁路被誉为“中国最大的扶贫工程”。铁路沿线各少数民族地区纷纷依托南昆线发展“通道经济”，经济繁荣景象初见端倪。

         A train from Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, stops at a station in an autonomous prefecture of Guizhou Province. The railway from Nanning to Kunming, completed in 1997, is reputed as the “biggest project for poverty alleviation”. The ethnic minority regions along the railway take advantage of the convenient rail transportation and start to see an economic boom.

  

 

 

     中国青年志愿者扶贫接力计划的第二批志愿者之一李燕红（中）即将离开希望小学时，孩子们含泪送别，依依不舍。李燕红放弃了北京的高薪工作，在贫困老区山西静乐县辛庄故宫希望小学任教一年，为山区孩子进行英语启蒙教育。

         Li Yanhong, a young volunteer who gave up a well-paid job in Beijing and served as an English teacher in a poor county of North China’s Shanxi Province for one year, is bidding a tearful farewell to her students at the Hope Primary School of Xinzhuang Village.

 

 

 

 

    2005年11月16日，芭蕉侗族茶农在采冬茶。近几年来，湖北省恩施芭蕉侗族乡通过加大科技扶贫力度，采取无性系良种繁殖，改过去一年只能采春秋两季茶为现在一年四季都可以采新茶，全乡人均仅茶叶一项就增收600多元。

         Tea farmers of Bajiaodong ethnic group are picking tea leaves on November 16, 2005. People of the Bajiaodong ethnic group living in Central China’s Hubei Province have adopted advanced technologies to increase tea production, realizing an annual income growth of 600 yuan per capita.

  

 

 

 

     2004年4月14日，世界扶贫大会实地考察团在浙江省衢州市青石镇考察农民素质培训基地时受到当地领导和群众的欢迎。中国浙江在对贫困地区进行综合扶贫开发方面取得的成绩和经验，将给其它国家和地区的扶贫工作起到表率作用。

         A delegation from the International Poverty Reduction Conference receives a warm welcome from the local officials and citizens when visiting the town of Qingshi, Zhejiang Province on April 14, 2004. Zhejiang Province has set a good example for other countries and regions in poverty alleviation.
