Education Office of the Consulate General
Of the People's Republic of China in Houston Education Office of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Houston is the educational foreign affairs office overseas coming under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of China. Its main task is to provide various services to Chinese Students and scholars at the consular districts, and to play a role in buttressing the bridge of educational, academic exchanges between China and the consular districts here in the southern United States. The country's guiding principles followed in recent years for overseas students and scholars may be summed up as: the government supports study abroad and encourages scholars to return home to render their services, and ensure the freedom of travel in and out of the country. The 8 consular districts are as follows: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida.
